Antoinette is a concert violinist and opera singer. She travels and advocates for causes that aim to make the world a better place. She has a friend, Lilith, who does that as a lawyer, politician...and witch. A few months into the year, they receive a surprise visit from an alien botanist, Ileandra. Follow them throughout an entire year on their adventures! The dolls are each unique personalities built using mouline floss embroidery threads for their faces, ears, and manicures, after which wigs were attached and styled with ribbons. All of their outfits and dress designs were created and recreated, in miniature, from observing what the author loves from human fashions. There is a story that follows calendar events, with photographs by the author accompanying each part of it. To get the images, she photographed the dolls in each of their outfits, then used Photoshop to place them in other photographs from her own collection of images from places that she has traveled to, so that it is as if the doll is there. There are a few images of the author holding each doll at the end in matching outfits, just for fun.

Learn the secrets of wandmaking and gain a powerful new tool for magical workings of all sorts. This enchanting, one-of-a-kind guidebook is for anyone who's ever wanted to know how magic wands work or longed to have a real magic wand of his or her own. Written by the foremost authority on the making of wands, this book is the first devoted solely to the art of wandmaking and its mysteries. Discover how a tree branch is transformed into a wand of magic, from selecting the wood and working in harmony with the tree spirits (or dryads) to understanding the magical correspondences of different stones, colors, and metals. Wandlore reveals aspects of wand theory that have never been discussed before in print—such as how the four-part design of a magic wand relates to the four alchemical elements, and the role of astrology, elemental correspondences, and the spheres of existence in wandmaking. It shares the magical process for empowering wand cores using phoenix feathers, unicorn hair, and elements of other mythical creatures. This groundbreaking masterwork belongs in the library of every practicing magician, witch, wizard, or druid.

The Forgetting Spell is beloved and bestselling author Lauren Myracle’s second book in the unforgettable Wishing Day series, perfect for fans of Kate DiCamillo and Ingrid Law. Most people in Willow Hill think Darya is the prickliest of the Blok sisters. What they don’t realize is that on the inside, Darya is soft and gooey from feeling everything, all the time. When Darya turns thirteen, the goo gets stickier—and as Darya’s Wishing Day approaches, all she wants is to forget the silly tradition ever existed. Except . . . she can’t. Ten years ago, a wish made by Darya’s mother splintered their family into pieces. Last year, Darya’s sister Natasha wished for their broken mother to return. The past is something you’re supposed to leave behind. Which is why Darya has locked and sealed her most painful memories inside the far corners of her mind, where they can no longer hurt her. But when some of them begin to leak out, Darya realizes the decision about what to wish for—and what not to wish for—is probably the most important choice of her life.
