Generally weights for piston gages have odd denominations that are often not readily calibrated by intercomparison methods.Therefore these weights are frequently calibrated by direct comparison methods.This paper presents direct comparison methods for calibrating piston gage weights for use with both equal-arm balances and single-pan balances.Methods of estimating the uncertainty of the values obtained are given.Also included are methods of checking for blunders or gross errors.(Author).
