Chapters describe the history and geography of West Africa and Sierra Leone, including details of West African tribal life and native society practices and customs, all written from the perspective of 1898 United Brethren Christian leaders. Missionary endeavors are described. An interesting, historic book reflecting missionary intentions, beliefs in the conversion of native peoples in Africa, and narratives on the lives and deaths of the missionaries.
