Letters, Syracuse, 28 July 1838, to Peter B. Porter, Niagara Falls, introducing Madame Caradori-Allan and her husband; Auburn, 8 Dec. 1847, to Elias S. Hawley et al., promising to transmit any papers or books that would enrich the Committee's collection, and stating that he came to Auburn from Orange County on 1 Jan. 1823; and Dept. of State, Washington, 6 Jan. 1868, to Emile Kahn, Cincinnati, regarding Kahn's concern about being drafted by the Prussian government should he visit Germany. Includes a clipping from the Buffalo Commercial Advertiser of both Kahn's inquiry and Seward's reply. Also, the subpoena and notice for a mortgage foreclosure in Weedsport, at which Seward served as solicitor for the complainant Gilbert Brooks, 27 Nov. 1829.
