Impact of Greater Female Participation in the Accounting Profession

The last quarter of a century is experiencing many females entering the accounting profession. However, the percentage of women in the upper echelon of accountants does not fairly represent the overall female participation in the workforce. Possible reasons may include gender, employment, and work life balance issues for women. It is interesting to analyze how the accounting industry has responded to the working mother, or even father, to accommodate a family's life and work balance. The intended areas of research include the proactive solutions that working family members are undertaking to control their quality of life issues.
