Alaska Seabird Colony Recensus Plan

Book Description

The Catalog of Alaskan Seabird Colonies was compiled in 1978. As new data made the publication obsolete, a computer database was developed in 1985, which has been updated through revisions. Some census data in the Catalog are old or of low quality and have become unreliable, so new high quality seabird colony data must be gathered and entered into the database. This plan describes seabird colony data and defines criteria that are used to select and prioritize colonies. Lists and maps of colonies that need to be recensused are provided with scores that indicate how unreliable the census data are.
