In this document, general background study data for Kane County is summarized. Regional considerations are discussed including geographic setting, physical characteristics, and historical population considerations. Forecasts of future development are summarized including the following items: population, residential land, manufacturing employment, non-manufacturing employment, regional open space, and agricultural and vacant land. Statements relating to interim development goals, objectives, and policies are included for the following: total county development, natural resources, transportation, open space, public utilities, industrial development, housing and residential development, and commercial development. A recommended Interim Land-Use PLan is discussed along with activities that must be accomplished to finalize the land-use plan element for the Kane County Comprehensive Plan.
