L’éducation alimentaire positive consiste à transmettre à l’enfant aussi bien les bases d’une assiette équilibrée et saine que le plaisir de manger à table en famille. Elle consiste à lui faire découvrir les aliments de la terre à l’assiette en passant par le jardin, le marché, la cuisine et la table, et à les apprécier tous, en particulier les légumes. Elle l’aide à se constituer un répertoire alimentaire le plus diversifié possible par l’expérience, en faisant appel à tous ses sens. Le livre est émaillé de nombreux conseils pratiques et d’une dizaine d’ateliers d’éveil et de recettes à réaliser avec les enfants en fonction de leurs aptitudes. Grâce à l’éducation alimentaire positive : On limite les rejets alimentaires (il arrive que l’enfant ne veuille rien manger, qu’il n'accepte pas les légumes, ou pas de morceaux, qu’il fasse des « crises » systématiquement à table, par exemple), on développe chez l’enfant des habitudes alimentaires saines pour la vie, le socle d’une bonne santé, on favorise son épanouissement et son estime de soi.
