The report is divided into the following sections: General background information on RMA contamination and past investigations; Description of the physical environment, regional biota, and biota within the arsenal; identification of important biological components as a basis for evaluating contamination; Summary of the methods used in this assessment; Data on the types and concentrations of contaminants in RMA biota; and Assessment of the distribution and concentration of contaminants in biota and associated environment to evaluate pathways for contaminant movement.

This RI/FS will: (1) evaluate the extent of contamination to the north and northwest of the arsenal, (2) estimate the risk to the environment and public health, (3) identify appropriate remedial responses. Sections of the report discuss the following: (1) geotechnical and chemical analysis, (2) ground water sampling, (3) safety plan for field activities, (4) data management and evaluation of data, (5) ea methodology which will be required in order to determine the magnitude and probability of actual or potential harm to the public or the environment.
