Reservoir Capacity and Yield

Book Description

Water Resources Yield

Book Description

This book will benefit graduate students, university professors and consultants working in the area of surface water resources yield planning and assessment. It is very easy to understand and includes well-presented worked examples, which will facilitate the understanding of some of the complex storage-yield-performance techniques described in the book. This book is one of the most complete reference textbooks on water resources yield assessment and is a must for all those engaged in this subject.

Reservoir Capacity and Yield

Book Description

Encyclopedia of Lakes and Reservoirs

Book Description

Lakes and reservoirs hold about 90% of the world's surface fresh water, but overuse, water withdrawal and pollution of these bodies puts some one billion people at risk. The Encyclopedia of Lakes and Reservoirs reviews the physical, chemical and ecological characteristics of lakes and reservoirs, and describes their uses and environmental state trends in different parts of the world. Superbly illustrated throughout, it includes some 200 entries in a range of topics, including acidification, artificialisation, canals, climate change effects, dams, dew ponds, drainage, eutrofication, evaporation, fisheries, hydro-electric power, nutrients, organic pollution, paleolimnology, reservoir capacities and depths, sedimentation, water resources and more.

Hydrologic Engineering Methods for Water Resources Development. Volume 8. Reservoir Yield

Book Description

The report is Volume 8 of a 12-volume report prepared by The Hydrologic Engineering Center as a part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' contribution to the International Hydrological Decade. Procedures can be described which can be used to determine the relationship between reservoir storage capacity and reservoir yield analysis are described in detail. Other topics include: Guidelines for selection of technical procedure; data requirements; use of generalized and simulated data; establishment of study criteria; and development and use of rule curves. Advantages and limitations of the various methods are discussed. A description of the generalized computer program entitled 'Partial Duration - Independent Low Flow Events' is included as an appendix.
