Bates, Russell, King, Skinner, Kent, Norcross, Dexter, Cooke and Porter, were appointed a Committee to make the Annual Examinations of all the Grammar and "Writing Schools, under the charge of the Board, for the present year. Attest: Barnard Capen, Secretary. In School Committee, Sept. 13th, 1853. Voted - That the Committee to make the Annual Examinations, be authorized to report in print. Attest: Barnard Capen, Secretary. In School Committee, November 1st, 1853. Mr. Bates, Chairman of the Committee to make the Annual Examinations, presented the Report of said Committee, which was accepted; and, thereupon, it was Ordered, That the usual number- twelve thousand copies - be printed for distribution.
