This case study, conducted at a financial services firm, investigated the impact of user involvement in a human resources information system project. A flexible/qualitative design and mixed methodology were used in the study. The study contained the following research questions: 1) Should end users participate in all phases of system development to ensure successful project outcomes? 2) Is there a connection among position in the organization or level of computer expertise and perceived project success? 3) At what stage of the system development process did end users feel they had the most influence? 4) Did end users perceive the information system project as successful? -- abstract.
