V-Couplings, Including V-Band and V-Retainer Coupling Assemblies, Flange and Seal Design, Application of

Book Description

This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) is intended to inform users of the proper use, application, and installation of V-Couplings, which will perform satisfactorily only if they are properly installed. This document informs the user of the correct manner of applying and installing V-Couplings and also cautions against improper use. Many of the referenced standards have been replaced by new SAE and other standards.More information and expanded explanations have been added.

Coupling Assembly, V-Band Sheet Metal Wide Flange, Pneumatic Tube

Book Description

This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) establishes the requirements for a grooved clamp coupling and flanges suitable for joining intermediate pressure and temperature ducting in aircraft pneumatic systems. The coupling joint assembly, hereafter referred to as "the joint", shall operate within the temperature range of -65 °F external ambient to +800 °F internal fluid. This aerospace standard is a departure from the prior qualification practices for the V-band coupling assemblies, AS4751. Prior practice sought to validate this type of assembled coupling design by conducting proof pressure testing but exceeded allowable leakage. AS6369 is to replace AS4751 for future design.

Coupling Assembly, V-Retainer, High Pressure High Temperature, Pneumatic Tube

Book Description

This SAE Aerospace Standard establishes the requirements for a V-retainer coupling, flanges, and seal suitable for joining high pressure and high temperature ducting in aircraft bleed air systems. The rigid coupling joint assembly, hereafter referred to as "the joint", shall operate within the temperature range of -65 to +1200 °F. This standard was revised to include PRI-QPL requirements and to update specification and standard references.

Couplings and Joints

Book Description

"Second Edition provides new material on coupling ratings, general purpose couplings versus special purpose couplings, retrofitting of lubricated couplings to nonlubricated couplings, torsional damping couplings, torquemeter couplings, and more."
